About Us
What we do
The Traveling Gnomes offer inclusive, accessible, and sustainable travel experiences locally and globally for neurodivergent and disabled adventure-seekers.
Our mission
Our mission is to celebrate human differences, deepen connections, and encourage curiosity through inclusive exploration, challenging each identity we cross to unapologetically be themselves.
our approach
We believe in living life authentically and unapologetically. We take a wholehearted approach to create space within our community and the communities we travel to, to celebrate differences, welcome new conversations, foster mutual respect, and cultivate a sense of belonging through exploration and adventure.
why we travel
Through travel, we unknowingly and automatically work on real life skills in real life situations. Travelers will navigate new communities, practice flexibility, deepen relationships, enhance safety awareness, and strengthen self advocating. Each person is challenged to mindfully practice self-care, take risks in order to conquer fears, and grow in the most unexpected ways. We not only hope to enable travelers to grow, but to further generalize and master their independence which will cultivate more successful future access to their community, world, and overall full human experience.
We value human differences
We live this out by supporting and celebrating the unique skills, passions, interests, and experiences of those within our direct and far-reaching communities.
We value mutual respect
We live this out by cultivating an inclusive experience where everybody has a voice and feels a genuine sense of belonging while unapologetically being themselves.
We value joy
We live this out through self expression, gratitude, genuine connections, and mindfully experiencing and enjoying each moment (+ dance parties, so many dance parties).
We value curiosity
We live this out by navigating new landscapes, asking questions, leaning into new conversations, taking risks, and promising to forever self-educate, un-learn, and re-learn.
